|WorkSafe actively seeks innovative ways to build sustainable change in health and safety behaviour.|
This session examines an initiative piloted at Massey High School, Auckland, which has provided insight of what success looks like learning about the notion of risk through designed learning experiences.
The 2020 pilot involved six learning interventions for rangatahi (young people) conducted by WorkSafe Inspectors, focussed on specific health and safety risks supporting stories and conversations about health and safety regulations.
The project design uses inclusive practices through strength-based activities, allowing learners to understand their own health and safety positions before moving to a critical understanding of the risks that might be part of their work environment.
In 2021, there will be 11,000 rangatahi who will be our future workers and work leaders participating in vocational academies -a force for sustainable change in health and safety.
