NZTA’s Regulatory Capability and Performance review – what can we learn?
10 August @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
As part of the Government Regulatory Practice Initiative’s (G-REG) Regulatory Stewardship work, members of the Regulatory Stewardship Programme working group from time to time reflect on published reviews of instances of regulatory failure. The purpose of this is to reflect on useful themes and lessons for the regulatory community and its members to consider (and, where appropriate, give effect to) in respect to their own regulatory practice. To date, working group members have reflected on the Heron and MacDonald inquiry review reports and more recently, the Ministry of Transport and Martin Jenkins reviews of the New Zealand Transport Agency’s (NZTA) Regulatory Capability and Performance from June 2019. Notes from these reflections are available on the Peer Learning page of the G-REG website: https://g-reg.govt.nz/peer-learning/
